Safeguarding Our Young Athletes in the Fight Against CTE

The BreatheHope Trust is proud to announce a critical research initiative aimed at protecting our young athletes from the hidden dangers head knocks and concussions causing Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE). While professional athletes have long grappled with the consequences of repeated concussions, it’s essential to recognize that children and amateur players are also at risk.

The Reality for Young Athletes

CTE is even being found in young high school players who have died, underscoring the urgency of our mission. The BreatheHope Trust aims to change the trajectory of their lives by advancing research into Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT).  Early indications are promising but more research and trials are required to clinically measure effectiveness and establish protocols.  Our sons, daughters, and siblings who participate in contact sports deserve protection.

A Call to Action for Families

As parents, coaches, and supporters, we must look for long term answers for our children’s well-being. CTE, characterized by memory loss, depression, aggression, and other debilitating symptoms, can impact anyone exposed to head trauma—regardless of their level of play. The roar of the crowd may fade, but the effects of concussions can be planted early, only to appear later in life.

HBOT: A Beacon of Hope

Early overseas studies suggest that HBOT holds promise in improving cognitive function and reducing CTE symptoms. By supporting research and clinical trials conducted at Wesley Hyperbaric, we can unlock the potential of this treatment. But we need your help.

Join the Team for a Safer Future

Our GoFundMe campaign isn’t just about fundraising; it’s about rallying a community. Every donation fuels groundbreaking research that extends beyond the playing field. Military personnel, amateur athletes, and everyday individuals exposed to head trauma will benefit from our efforts.

A Legacy of Resilience

This fight isn’t limited to stars on the field. It’s about the future of our communities and the young athletes who inspire us. By contributing today, you become part of a winning team dedicated to turning the tide on this invisible opponent.

Together, We Can Make a Difference

HBOT: A Recognized Treatment with Expanding Horizons

In Australia, HBOT is already recognized as a treatment for 13 different medical conditions, with costs covered by Medicare. The BreatheHope Trust’s research could pave the way for HBOT to become an accepted treatment for CTE, offering hope to those affected by concussion-related trauma.

About The BreatheHope Trust
