Despite suffering numerous high-profile concussions in recent years, Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa does not seem to be making the necessary adjustments in order to protect himself. That recklessness was further evidenced on Monday night against the Los Angeles Rams, as Tua threw his head into a tackle after throwing an interception.
Given Tua Tagovailoa’s history with head injuries, the recklessness moment immediately went viral on social media, with many NFL fans wondering how the 26-year-old could still have so brazen recklessness with the safety of his brain, especially with all the NFL’s now knows about CTE.
Tagovailoa, who also refuses to wear the new protective “Guardian caps” on his helmet, has sustained three diagnosed concussions over the span of the last two seasons.
According to the popular ProFootballDoc account on X, formerly Twitter, it was a “close call” to another concussion and Tua was “lucky” he got with a shin and not a knee.
“Tua gotta be the only dude I know that actively tries to get CTE,” tweeted one football fan talking about recklessness.
“Tua’s brain looks like a McRib but yet the Dolphins organization told him it’s okay to play football,” said another viral post.
“Tua is very obviously going to die on national television in a meaningless regular season game,” another grimly assessed.
